Privacy policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
The short version
- We collect what we need to run Dropeen and to see where it breaks: your email, your desktops, how long they're streamed, and diagnostics about connections and errors.
- We never collect what's on your desktop's screen, what you type, your clipboard, the sites you visit or your files.
- We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can turn the app's diagnostics off, and ask us to delete your account and data.
Who we are
Dropeen ("we") runs dropeen.com, the Dropeen app and the servers your desktop connects through. Questions about privacy: hello@dropeen.com.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, used to sign you in (we email you a sign-in link; there's no password) and to contact you about your account. The email addresses you invite to your desktops.
Your desktops
Each desktop's link name and when it was paired. At pairing: your PC's computer name, the internet (IP) address it paired from, and a random ID for that copy of the app, which says nothing about the PC. Which relay region each desktop uses.
Usage
When a desktop is opened, by whom, and for how long it streams, with the amount of data. We use this to run your plan's hours.
Diagnostics
So we can find and fix problems before you have to tell us:
- From the app: how setup, starting the desktop, updates and pairing go (each step's result and how long it took), and the error lines of its log. Before sending, the app removes your Windows user folder from file paths, and passwords and keys. You can switch this off at the bottom of the app's setup page.
- From the desktop page in your browser: how the connection performs (delay, picture smoothness, data rate, packet loss), whether it connects directly or through our relay, your browser and device type, your window and screen size, and errors on the page. This page also lowers the picture size on slow connections.
- From our servers: their logs, which can include IP addresses and errors.
With diagnostics we receive the IP address it comes from and use it to estimate your country and city.
Our website
Which pages are viewed, the site that sent the visitor, campaign tags in the link, and download clicks. The website sets no cookies for this.
What we never collect
What's on your desktop's screen, what you type, your clipboard, the websites you visit on your desktop, and the files on it or on your PC. Your desktop's picture travels from your PC to your browser encrypted, sometimes through our relay; we don't record or store it.
Cookies
We use only cookies needed for signing in: one on dropeen.com that keeps you signed in, and one on your desktop's link that proves you may open it. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else handles data
- Amazon Web Services (London): hosts our servers.
- PostHog (United States): stores and analyses diagnostics, website analytics and server logs.
- Resend: sends our emails, such as sign-in links.
- Cloudflare: runs dropeen.com's domain names (DNS). Your browser also asks Cloudflare's and Google's public connection servers (STUN) for its own internet address when it connects to your desktop; they see that address and nothing of the stream.
Some of these are outside your country, including in the United States. We only share what each needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Account and desktop details: while your account exists. Usage: for as long as we need it for billing and our records. Diagnostics and logs: up to 12 months.
Your choices and rights
- Switch diagnostics off in the app (setup page, bottom).
- Remove people from your desktops, or disconnect a PC, at any time.
- Email hello@dropeen.com to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have your account and data deleted. We reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you by email for anything significant.
